About the Council’s 20/20 Project

Launched in 2015, the Council's 20/20 Project on the Homeland Security Enterprise is our five-year initiative that embraces the concept of 20/20 'clarity of vision' and a desire to provide – through a set of surveys and National Conversations – insights and perspectives from both government officials and industry executives as a foundation of information, education, best practices and suggested action for the Enterprise leading up to the year 2020 – the year before the 20th commemoration of 9/11.

Building on our inaugural report and event that examined the Secretary’s Unity of Effort initiative, in 2016 we are focusing on Charting the Future: A Mission Driven Homeland Security Enterprise. Our goal is to reflect the reality of the operational mission state of the Enterprise to help inform the new administration. With the pro-bono support of Council member Grant Thornton, we've involved leading officials from agencies across the Enterprise, in a series of mission-oriented focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and an online survey.

We look forward to sharing our report with you at the event and hearing the perspectives from leaders throughout the Homeland Security Enterprise.
